Project Associate I (PA-I), Life Sciences at CSIR-IIIM Jammu

About the position

CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu invites applications for one Project Associate I position in Life Sciences. The post is under the BioE3 Policy DBT-funded Project No. GAP-3192, on cost-effective bioprocess development and scale-up of β-galactosidase production using dairy liquid waste. The Principal Investigator is Dr. Vinod Kumar, Sr. Scientist. The engagement is temporary and project based. It is for one year or the project duration, whichever is earlier. The project currently runs up to 14 Jan 2028.

Eligibility

• Post Code 02: Project Associate I, one position.
• Essential: Master's Degree in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry, or Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent.
• Desirable: Research experience in fermentation, process optimization for enzyme production.
• Upper age limit: 35 years. Age relaxation as per Government of India rules. Age is reckoned on the last date of application.
• Candidates currently engaged in a project at CSIR-IIIM need a No Objection Certificate before applying.

Fellowship / pay

• ₹31,000 per month + HRA for those who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship) or GATE, or national level examinations by Central Government departments like DBT/DST or equivalent.
• ₹25,000 per month + HRA for others.
• HRA is paid only if institutional accommodation is not availed or provided.
