Project Associate (PA-I), Life Sciences at CSIR-CCMB Hyderabad

About the position

CSIR-CCMB, Hyderabad invites applications for Project Associate-I (PA-I) on a contract basis. There are 2 positions across two projects. Post code 021026B-01 is in parasitology, cell biology and protein chemistry (GAP000648), under Dr(s). Puran Singh Sijwali and Saikat Chowdhury. Post code 031026B-01 is in molecular biology and neuroscience (GAP000681), under Dr Ishwariya Venkatesh.

Eligibility

• Post code 021026B-01 (project: Investigation of the role and structural basis for function of Plasmodium falciparum vacuole membrane protein): Master's degree in biological sciences OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognised university or equivalent.
• Post code 031026B-01 (project: Targeted reversal of Epigenetic constraints for nervous system repair): Master's degree in life sciences or natural sciences OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognised university or equivalent.
• Desirable for 021026B-01: hands-on experience of cell culture, recombinant protein expression and purification, molecular biology techniques and biochemistry. NET/UGC JRF, NET/UGC Lectureship or GATE (>85% percentile) are desirable.
• Desirable for 031026B-01: at least one year of experience in molecular biology techniques and animal handling.
• Upper age limit: 35 years. Relaxation as per CSIR / Government of India guidelines. Age is counted on the last date of receipt of online applications.
• Candidates still pursuing or awaiting results of their degree will not be considered.

Fellowship / pay

• Rs. 31,000 p.m. + 30% HRA for scholars selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE, or (b) a selection process through national level examinations conducted by Central Government departments and their agencies and institutions.
• Rs. 25,000 p.m. + 30% HRA, as applicable, for others.
