Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Physics at Tezpur University

About the position

Tezpur University invites applicants for one temporary Junior Research Fellow position in the Department of Physics. The post is in the MoES sponsored project "Study on co-seismic deformation along Kopili Fault and neighbouring regions of northeast India through InSAR, assisted by allied seismic data". The Principal Investigator is Dr. Rajib Biswas, Associate Professor, Department of Physics. The position runs up to 31 Mar 2027 or till completion of the project.

Eligibility

• First class Post Graduate degree, including integrated PG degree, in Physics / Applied Physics / Remote Sensing / Geophysics with NET/GATE.
• OR B.Tech. in Eng. Physics / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering with NET/GATE.
• Desirable: research experience in Coding, Data Analysis.
• Age: not more than 28 years on the date of interview. Upper age limit may be relaxed as per Government of India rules.
• Those in employment or doing Ph.D. must submit a No Objection Certificate from the employer or Ph.D. supervisor.

Fellowship / pay

• ₹37,000/- (Rupees thirty-seven thousand) only plus HRA as admissible per month.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

2. Appear before the Interview Board at the Department of Physics, Tezpur University at 10.00 a.m. on 12 Nov 2026.
3. Carry originals and self-attested photocopies of mark sheets and certificates from 10th standard onwards, caste certificate (if applicable), experience certificate (if any), NET/GATE certificate, other testimonials and a recent signed CV.
