Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Mechanical at IIT Delhi

About the position

IIT Delhi invites applications for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) post in the Department of Energy Science and Engineering. The post is on the sponsored project "Performance Evaluation and Design Optimization of Glass Industry Furnaces for Improved Combustion & Fuel Saving Potentials" (RPO5099N). The Principal Investigator is Prof. S. K. Tyagi. The project is sponsored by Gold Plus Float Glass Private Limited. The appointment is contractual, with consolidated pay, renewable yearly or up to the project duration, whichever is earlier.

Eligibility

• B.Tech with NET/GATE and M.Tech in Mech/Thermal/Energy/Chem with a minimum of 65%.
• Preferably a background in modelling/CFD simulation, furnace design and data analysis.
• The NET/GATE requirement for JRF/SRF selection may be relaxed for candidates who graduated from Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) with a CGPA of more than 8.000 (80% aggregate marks).
• 5% relaxation of marks may be granted to SC/ST candidates.
• Only Indian nationals may apply.
• IIT Delhi may fix higher criteria for shortlisting.
• The JRF will be encouraged to register for the PhD programme. If admitted, the PhD topic will relate to the project. After course work, the fellow will be deputed to the industry site at Kanagala (Belgaum), Karnataka, and must sign an NDA with the industry.

Fellowship / pay

₹37,000/- + HRA @30% (consolidated, contractual).
