Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Physics (ISRO Venus Solar Wind Project) at IIG Mumbai

About the position

The Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG), Navi Mumbai, invites one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for an ISRO sponsored project. The project is titled "Role of solar wind in reshaping different plasma boundaries and subsequent effects on various ionospheric regions". The JRF will research Venus and solar wind interaction. Place of work is IIG, H.Q., New Panvel.

Eligibility

• (a) M.Sc. in Physics / Applied Physics / Engineering Physics / Space Physics / Atmospheric Science / Meteorology / Planetary Sciences, OR M.S / M.E / M.Tech in Atmospheric Science / Space Science / Planetary Science / Applied Physics / Engineering Physics.
• (b) Applicants should also have qualified one of: CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (including NET-Lectureship); Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by MHRD; Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST).
• Desirable: Experience in space based data analysis. Programming in Matlab/Python.
• Maximum age: 28 years (relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PwBD).
• Final semester or final year students awaiting results are not eligible.

Fellowship / pay

• Rs.37000/- plus HRA as applicable, if accommodation is not provided by the Institute.
