Research Associate (RA), Physics (L-ATMIC Project) at IIG Mumbai

About the position

The Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG), Navi Mumbai, invites a Research Associate for the L-ATMIC project. The subject area is Physics, Atmospheric Science and Space Science. The Research Associate will do advanced analysis of lightning and atmosphere-ionosphere datasets and guide JRFs. Place of work is IIG, H.Q., New Panvel or KSKGRL, Prayagraj.

Eligibility

• Essential: Ph.D. in Physics / Atmospheric Science / Space Science.
• Desirable: Demonstrated research experience relevant to the project. Experience in atmosphere-ionosphere coupling or aeronomy of the Mesosphere-Lower Thermosphere and ionosphere region. Experience in Python/MATLAB/IDL or equivalent, image processing, time-series and statistical analysis, and large geophysical datasets.
• Maximum age: 35 years (relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PwBD).

Fellowship / pay

• Rs.58000/- plus HRA as applicable, if accommodation is not provided by the Institute.
