Research Associate (RA), Life Sciences at NIT Durgapur

About the position

NIT Durgapur invites applications for one Research Associate I post in Life Sciences. The post is in the Department of Chemical Engineering. It is for a DBT, GOI funded project on hybrid absorption membrane-assisted CO2 capture and microalgal solvent regeneration, with lycopene pigment production from Dunaliella salina. The departmental PI is Dr. Bikash Kumar Mondal and the Co-PI is Prof. Susmita Dutta. The appointment is temporary for two years or the end of the project, whichever is earlier.

Eligibility

• PhD degree or equivalent in Biotechnology / Biological Sciences from reputed Institutes/Universities.
• Expertise in cell culture, image analysis, advanced molecular cell biology and biochemical techniques.
• Preference for research exposure to Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry, Spectrophotometer handling and basic modelling, with at least one research paper in an SCI journal.
• Upper age limit is 35 years, with 5 years relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and women candidates, as on the last date of application.
• Applications are invited from Indian citizens.

Fellowship / pay

INR 58,000/- per month (Accommodation / HRA as per Institute Norm).
