Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Life Sciences at ICAR-IVRI Izatnagar

About the position

ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Regional Campus, Hebbal, Bengaluru has one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) post in Life Sciences. The post is under a DBT funded project, "Molecular basis of cardiotropism to Foot and Mouth Disease Virus (FMDV) infection in the lamb: A model for coxsackie viral myocarditis in children". The post is contractual and ends with the project. Project duration is 3 years: the first two years as JRF and the third year as SRF.

Eligibility

• Master's degree (M.V.Sc / M.Tech / MSc) in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Veterinary Microbiology or relevant subjects in life science, with NET qualification. Exams conducted by central government departments or agencies such as CSIR-UGC, ICMR, ICAR, DAE, DBT and GATE are considered NET (OM Agril Edn.6/27/2014-HRD dated 9 Oct 2015). Or PhD (awarded) in the above subjects.
• Desirable: working experience in bioinformatics and molecular biology techniques; working knowledge of MS Office and report writing with good command of English.
• Age limit: 35 years for men and 40 years for women as on the date of advertisement. Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per rules.
• Only candidates meeting the essential qualification should attend.

Fellowship / pay

Rs 37000 per month + 27% HRA. No TA/DA is paid for the interview.

3. Attend the walk-in interview on 29 Oct 2026 at 10.30 am at ICAR-IVRI, Hebbal, Bengaluru-560024.
4. Bring the complete bio data in original, thesis or dissertation, reprints of published papers, self-attested copies of certificates, mark sheets and degrees from matriculation onwards, age proof, two passport size photographs, originals of all documents and one valid ID proof.
5. Employed candidates must bring a no objection and experience certificate from the current employer.
6. Candidates with CGPA/OGPA marks must bring the approved conversion table or formula.
