Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Hydro and Renewable Energy at IIT Roorkee

About the position

IIT Roorkee invites applications for Project Fellow (JRF) positions in the Department of Hydro and Renewable Energy. The posts are under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (R&D Division) sponsored Centre of Excellence project on Ultra Low Head and Hydrokinetic Turbines. The Principal Investigator is Dr Arun Kumar. There are 3 posts: CFD guidelines (1), screw or other low head turbine (1) and potential assessment (1, also open to Research Associate level). Duration is 1 year or up to project completion.

Eligibility

• Indian nationals only.
• CFD guidelines: Ph.D. in Mechanical/Civil/Hydropower Engineering or relevant discipline having CFD/design-based work in hydro turbine/pump. Or M Tech in the same disciplines with 3 years experience in CFD/design of hydro turbine/pump.
• Screw low head turbine / other low head turbine: Ph.D. or M. Tech. in Mechanical/Hydropower/Aeronautical/Civil Engineering or relevant discipline having design including solid work and CFD based work of hydraulic turbine / rotating machine / aerodynamics.
• Potential assessment (Project Fellow / Research Associate): Ph.D. or M. Tech. in Mechanical/Hydropower/Civil Engineering or relevant discipline having experience in potential assessment of renewable energy resources.
• Preference to SC/ST candidates on equal qualifications and experience.

Fellowship / pay

Project Fellow: Rs. 40,000/- to Rs. 1,00,000/- + HRA per month. No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.
