Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science at IIT Indore

About the position

IIT Indore invites applications for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science. The post is in the IGSTC funded project "Understanding Impurity Effects on Agglomeration and Microstructure in Hydrogen-Reduced Low-Grade Iron Ores". The Principal Investigator is Dr. Khushubo Devi, Assistant Professor, Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science. The project runs for a maximum of 36 months or till its end, whichever is earlier.

Eligibility

• M. Tech. / ME in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Materials Engineering / Nanoscience and Engineering / Nanotechnology / Production Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent, with first division as defined by the awarding Institute / University.
• Or Post Graduate degree in Physics / Chemistry / Materials Science with first division as defined by the awarding Institute / University, and a valid NET / GATE certificate.
• Desirable: knowledge and experience in Physical Metallurgy, Extractive / Process Metallurgy, Mechanical Metallurgy, Materials Characterization, Solid state physics and Basic Electrochemistry.
• Age limit: preferably 29 years (5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates).
• Candidates who will complete their M. Tech. in the current academic year are also encouraged to apply.

Fellowship / pay

• Rs. 37,000/- pm (Consolidated), as per the norms of the funding agency.
• Rs. 42,000/- per month for the third year.
• The selected candidate will be encouraged to join the Ph.D. program at IIT Indore.
