Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Petroleum Engineering at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad

About the position

IIT (ISM) Dhanbad invites applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a project sponsored by ESSAR Oil and Gas Ltd. The work is in the Department of Petroleum Engineering under Principal Investigator Dr. Keka Ojha. The project objective is prospect evaluation of the field under study through physico-chemical and petrographic evaluation of borehole samples. Tenure is two years or till the end of the project. The JRF position may be converted into a regular JRF of the Institute at any time as per IIT (ISM) rules.

Eligibility

• BTech/MTech/ME in Petroleum Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Environmental Science & Engineering/Geology, or MSc in Chemistry/Geology, with more than 60% marks or equivalent CGPA/OGPA.
• All candidates will have to qualify NET/GATE to apply for PhD admission in Engineering/Science as per the essential qualification, except those below.
• Qualifying NET/GATE is not mandatory if the candidate has done MTech/ME with First Class or First Division or minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
• Or has done BTech/BE with a minimum CGPA of 8 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent percentage from any CFTI.
• Or has done BTech/BE with a minimum CGPA of 8 (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent percentage from any Institute/University ranked 1 to 100 in the Overall category in NIRF India rankings (in the year of application or the last year).
• Upper age limit is 28 years at the time of appointment. Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy layer)/Female candidates as per GOI/DST rules.

Fellowship / pay

Rs. 37000/- per month.
