Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Electronics and Communication Engineering at NIT Silchar

About the position

NIT Silchar invites applications for a temporary Junior Research Fellow (JRF) post in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The post is under the project on accelerated research for 6G ecosystem, funded by the TTDF scheme of DoT. The project develops technologies to combat Terahertz channel propagation loss and uses AI for low-complexity beam training and resource management in wireless communication. The Principal Investigator is Dr. Sucharita Chakraborty, Assistant Professor. The tenure is three years or till the project closes, whichever is earlier, with performance review every 12 months.

Eligibility

• Candidates with or without valid GATE/NET and a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL, and minimum 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA at both UG and PG for SC/ST/PwD.
• OR a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology with at least CGPA 7.5/10 or 70% marks for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL, and at least CGPA 7.0/10 or 65% for SC/ST/PwD.
• B.Tech/B.E or equivalent in ECE and M.Tech/M.E in ECE or equivalent, or B.Tech/B.E or equivalent in ECE.
• Desirable: understanding of digital communication, probability theory, optimization and wireless communications. Experience with MATLAB or Python.
• Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Women/PwD/EWS as per Government of India rules.
• Employed candidates must submit a no-objection certificate at the interview.

Fellowship / pay

INR 37,000/- per month (with and without GATE/NET).
