Project Associate-I (PA-I), Mechanical Engineering at NIT Silchar

About the position

NIT Silchar invites applications for a temporary Project Associate-I post in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The post is under an ANRF-DST, Govt. of India sponsored project in the Advanced Research Grant (ARG) programme. The project title begins "Empowering Self-Repairability and EMI Shielding in Frontal Polymerised CFRPs Using" (the rest is not readable). The project number is ANRF/ARG/2025/011059/ENS.

Eligibility

• Open to Indian citizens.
• Four years Bachelor's degree in Sciences, or Master's degree in Sciences, preferably from Chemistry, Polymer Sciences, Materials Chemistry, Materials Science, or Nanoscience and Engineering or Technology. Preferably a degree in Mechanical, Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical and Polymer Engineering, Plastic Engineering or Polymer Technology.
• Desirable: hands-on experience in synthesis of nanomaterials, self-healing in composites, rapid polymerisation, CFRP, manufacturing of composite materials, polymer technology, and mechanical characterisation of materials.
• A No Objection Certificate is required for employed candidates at the time of the interview (text partly unreadable).
• The institute may limit the number of candidates called for interview after screening. No candidate may be recruited if suitable candidates are not found.

Fellowship / pay

• 37,000/- + HRA for scholars selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests: CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship), or GATE, or (b) a selection process through national level examinations conducted by Central Government departments and their agencies and institutions.
• 30,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under the above.
