Project Assistant II (PA-II), Physics / Electronics / Mechanical at CSIR-CGCRI Kolkata

About the position

CSIR-Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute (CSIR-CGCRI), Kolkata invites applications for one Project Assistant II post. The project is sponsored by HFCL Ltd. and is titled "Developing Patentable Fabrication Process for HFCL Proprietary Product i.e. Silica Based Nested Antiresonant Nodeless Fiber for Next Generation Optical Communication Networks". The post is tenable at CSIR-CGCRI, Kolkata. Tenure is initially 1 year, extendable up to 29 Jan 2028 subject to availability of funds.

Eligibility

• Essential: B.Sc. (Physics) or 3 years Diploma in Engineering / Technology in Electronics, Mechanical or Electrical, with minimum 60% marks/GPA.
• Desirable: experience in electronics or machine handling, glass handling, electrical work. Proficient in basic computer skills and CAD software. Lab skills in optics, fibre optics and optomechanics.
• Age limit: 35 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST candidates and as per rules for other categories listed in the notice.
• Candidates with results awaited are not eligible.
• Candidates already engaged in a project must submit an NOC from the existing Project Leader.

Fellowship / pay

• Stipend: Rs. 20,000/- + HRA.
• Increment of 15% after 3 years of experience in the same project.
