About the position

CSIR-IMMT Bhubaneswar invites applications for Ph.D. admission under AcSIR for the January 2027 session. Streams are Engineering Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Mathematical and Information Sciences and Agricultural Sciences. Eligibility

• Ph.D. (Engineering): Master's degree in Engineering / Technology (after a four-year engineering / technology degree or an integrated 5-year B.Tech./M.Tech. degree or equivalent) in Metallurgical / Chemical / Mineral / Mechanical / Mining / Environmental / Electronics / Computer Sciences / Information Technology / any other recognised branches, with a good academic record and a valid CSIR-SRF/JRF or equivalent fellowship.
• Mode of entry as per AcSIR criteria: National / Institute fellowship, industry sponsored, self-sponsored, and eligible staff of CSIR-IMMT.
• IDDP in Engineering: four-year undergraduate degree in Engineering (B.Tech. / BE / BS) in Metallurgical / Chemical / Mineral / Mining / Mechanical / Electronics / Computers / Environmental / Biotechnology / other area relevant to CSIR-IMMT, and at least one of: (a) conditions for CSIR-GATE-JRF (good academic record and a valid GATE score); (b) conditions for the INSPIRE fellowship or equivalent; (c) conditions for self-sponsored and industry-sponsored candidates; (d) criteria for CSIR-IMMT staff (Group-IV Scientists, Group-III Technical Staff).
• Ph.D. (Sciences): Master's degree in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Materials, Environmental, Geology, Mathematics and Information Sciences / any other area relevant to CSIR-IMMT) with a good academic record and a valid national level fellowship (JRF/SRF of any funding agency, e.g. CSIR, UGC, DST, DBT, ICMR etc.), INSPIRE, WISE, RGNF, DBT-BET or any other equivalent fellowship. CSIR-IMMT staff and industry-sponsored candidates who meet AcSIR criteria are also eligible.
• Project Assistants with a minimum of one year at CSIR-IMMT who meet AcSIR / CSIR requirements are also eligible for Ph.D. (ES/BS/PS/CS/MIS).
• Criteria are relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/Women/Physically Handicapped candidates as per GOI rules.

Fellowship / pay
