Project Associate-I (PA-I), Forestry & Ecology at CSIR Headquarters

About the position

CSIR-TKDL Unit, New Delhi invites walk-in applications for Project Associate-I (Forestry & Ecology), post code TKEE01. The post is under the project "The Importance of Traditional Wisdom: Environmental Consciousness in Vedic and other literature and its Relevance for Modern Climate Strategies (GAP-000001)". There is 1 post. The engagement is temporary and on contract, up to 15 January 2027 or co-terminus with the project.

Job description: data compilation, to establish correlation between traditional knowledge on agriculture, forestry and ecology and modern sciences or contemporary practices, and assistance in report preparation.

Eligibility

• Essential: Master's/Integrated Master's Degree in Natural Sciences or Forestry/Ecology or related fields from a recognised University or equivalent.
• Desirable: Experience in field surveys, resource mapping, monitoring ecological indicators, development of conservation and management strategies for natural resources.
• Age limit: 35 years, relaxable for reserved/statutory categories as per CSIR/Govt. of India rules. Age is calculated on the date of the interview.
• Only candidates whose essential qualification result is declared (at least a provisional certificate) can appear. Result awaited or final semester candidates are not eligible.
• Total tenure in CSIR projects cannot exceed six years.
• Employed candidates must bring a No-Objection Certificate from the current employer.

Fellowship / pay

• Rs. 31,000/- + HRA for candidates who have qualified CSIR UGC/ICAR/ICMR/NET incl. lectureship/assistant professorship or GATE, or national level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their agencies.
• Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for others.
• No TA/DA for attending the interview.
