Project Associate-II (PA-II), Plant Pathology at ICAR-IARI Delhi

About the position

ICAR-IARI, New Delhi invites applications for one Project Associate-II in the Division of Plant Pathology. The post is under the DBT funded project "Mainstreaming sesame germplasm for productivity enhancement and sustainability through genomics assisted core development and trait discovery" (Sub project 3, Component 2: Identification of Biotic Stress (Phyllody & Dry Root Rot) Tolerant Sesame Genotypes). The position is temporary and contractual, up to February 2027.

Eligibility

• Essential: Master's degree in Plant Pathology / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology, or a postgraduate degree in basic sciences (botany and allied sciences) from a recognised university or institute, or equivalent.
• Essential: Two years of experience in research and development in industrial and academic institutions, or science and technology organisations, and scientific activities and services.
• Desirable: Research experience in phytoplasma diseases and molecular techniques.
• Upper age limit: 35 years as on the date of interview. Relaxation: women 5 years, SC/ST 5 years, OBC 3 years, PwD 10 years.
• Only candidates with the essential qualifications will be considered for interview.

Fellowship / pay

• Rs. 35,000 per month + 30% HRA for scholars selected through (a) CSIR-UGC-NET or GATE, or (b) national level examinations conducted by central government departments and their agencies.
• Rs. 28,000 + 30% HRA for others who do not fall under the above (DST O.M. No. SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated 10-7-2020).

2. Bring two copies of the filled application, two recent passport size photographs, one set of self-attested photocopies of certificates and the original certificates.
3. Bring a no objection certificate from the employer if currently employed.
4. Declare any near or distant relative employed at ICAR/IARI in the prescribed format.
5. Appear for the walk-in interview on 2 Nov 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Division of Plant Pathology, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi. No call letters will be issued.
6. No TA/DA is paid. Check the IARI website for any corrigendum.
