Research Associate (RA), Plant Physiology at ICAR-IARI Delhi

About the position

ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi invites applications for one Research Associate (RA) post in Plant Physiology. The post is under the ICAR-funded project "Enhancing climate resilience and ensuring food security with genome editing tools". It is offered by the Division of Plant Physiology and the Division of Biochemistry. The post is temporary and co-terminus with the project.

Eligibility

• Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, or a relevant plant science discipline, or a Master degree with thesis research focused primarily on CRISPR cas9 mediated gene editing, prime editing, transgenic generation, novel gene construct development, and evaluation of transgenic lines.
• Desirable: Agrobacterium mediated genetic transformation in Soybean/Mustard/Pigeon pea, particle gun mediated transformation of plants, RNA mediated gene editing, genome editing of plants, molecular cloning, novel and efficient vector development, molecular analysis of transgenic plants, data interpretation and statistical analysis, scientific writing.
• Age: 40 years for men, 45 years for women. Relaxation for SC/ST, OBC and PwD candidates as per Government of India rules.
• No objection certificate from the current employer is required, if working.

Fellowship / pay

• Rs 61,000/- per month + 30% HRA (for Master degree holders)
• Rs 67,000/- per month + 30% HRA (for Ph.D.)
• Initial period of six months or project duration, whichever is earlier. May be extended on satisfactory performance.
• No TA/DA for attending the interview.
