Project Associate-I (PA-I), Life Sciences at North-Eastern Hill University

About the position

North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong has one post of Project Associate-I (PA-I) in Life Sciences. The post is in a DBT funded project on silicate solubilizing bacterial biodiversity in paddy fields of East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya. The Principal Investigator is Dr. Arvind Kumar, Department of Biochemistry. The appointment is temporary and co-terminus with the project.

Eligibility

• Essential: M.Sc. in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Botany/or relevant subjects.
• Desirable: Experience in soil microbiology, molecular biology and phylogenetic analysis.
• Upper age limit: 35 years.
• Working professionals and candidates pursuing any course must submit NOC from their Head of Department.
• Tenure: Initially six months, with possible extensions up to 10.06.2029, subject to satisfactory performance.

Fellowship / pay

• Rs. 31,000/- P.M. + HRA as per DBT OM for candidates who qualified CSIR-UGC NET-LS, GATE or national level examinations conducted by central Government Departments and their agencies.
• Rs 25,000/- P.M. + HRA as per DBT OM for others.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
