About the position

IGNOU invites applications for one post of Assistant Professor in Environmental Studies under the School of InterDisciplinary & TransDisciplinary Studies. Eligibility

A Master's degree with minimum 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. Besides this, the candidate must have cleared NET conducted by UGC or CSIR, or have been awarded a PhD Degree in accordance with UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations 2009 or 2016, or UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations 2022, as applicable, in which case NET is exempted subject to conditions (regular mode PhD, thesis evaluated by two external examiners, open viva voce, two research papers from PhD work with at least one in a refereed/UGC listed journal, and two conference presentations). Alternatively, a PhD from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 in QS, THE or ARWU world rankings. A relaxation of 5% marks (55% to 50%) applies at Bachelor's and Master's level for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PwBD candidates. NET is not required for disciplines where NET is not conducted by UGC/CSIR. SLET/SET is not valid in place of NET.
