About the position

IIT Hyderabad invites applications for Assistant Professor Grade-II in 16 departments. This grade is for candidates with less than 3 years of post-Ph.D. industrial, research or teaching experience. The departments are Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Climate Change, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Design, Electrical Engineering, Entrepreneurship and Management, Liberal Arts, Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and Physics. The notice does not state the number of posts.

Eligibility

• Essential qualification: Ph.D. with a first class or equivalent in the preceding degree and an excellent academic record throughout.
• Candidates with less than 3 years of post-Ph.D. industrial/research/teaching experience can apply.
• Candidates are expected to have a strong record of research publications in journals of repute (Q1), refereed conferences (A* and A), patents, etc.
• Upper age limit is preferably 35 years as on the closing date. Relaxation: SC/ST 5 years, OBC-NCL 3 years, PwBD as per the notice.
• Department-specific degree requirements apply. See section 4 of the notice.

Fellowship / pay

• Assistant Professor Grade-II (Pay Level-10 or Pay Level-11).
• Minimum pay for a fresh candidate with no post-Ph.D. experience: ₹98,200/- (Pay Level-10) along with admissible allowances.
• Later consideration for Grade-I on meeting the experience requirement, subject to internal review.
• Seed grant of ₹10 lakhs on joining. Relocation support up to ₹1.5 lakh. CPDA of ₹3 lakhs per 3-year block.
