About the position

IIT Hyderabad invites applications for Assistant Professor Grade-I in 16 departments. The departments are Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Climate Change, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Design, Electrical Engineering, Entrepreneurship and Management, Liberal Arts, Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and Physics. Specialisations are listed department-wise in the notice. The notice does not state the number of posts.

Eligibility

• Essential qualification: Ph.D. with a first class or equivalent in the preceding degree and an excellent academic record throughout.
• Experience: a minimum of 3 years' post-Ph.D. experience in teaching/research/industry.
• Candidates are expected to have a strong record of research guidance, research publications in journals of repute (Q1), refereed conferences (A* and A), patents, etc.
• Upper age limit is preferably 35 years as on the closing date. Relaxation: SC/ST 5 years, OBC-NCL 3 years, PwBD as per the notice.
• Department-specific degree requirements apply. See section 4 of the notice.

Fellowship / pay

• Assistant Professor Grade-I (Pay Level-12): minimum pay ₹1,01,500/- along with admissible allowances, as per 7th CPC.
• After 3 years of satisfactory service, placed in pay level 13A1 subject to a positive performance review.
• Seed grant of ₹10 lakhs on joining. Relocation support up to ₹1.5 lakh. CPDA of ₹3 lakhs per 3-year block.
