Research Associate (RA), Multiple Departments at IIM Tiruchirappalli

About the position

IIM Tiruchirappalli invites applications for Academic Associate posts on a contract basis. The posts are spread across eight academic areas: Economics & Public Policy, Finance and Accounting, General Management, Information Systems and Analytics (ISA), Marketing, Organizational Behaviour & Human Resource Management, Operations Management and Decision Sciences, and Strategy. Academic Associates assist faculty members with teaching support, research, course preparation and academic administration. The appointment is a fixed term for one year, extendable up to a total of two years based on performance and institute requirement. The notice does not state the number of posts per area.

Eligibility

Area wise required educational qualification:

a. Economics & Public Policy: PhD with or without experience, or Graduates/Post Graduates in Economics or allied fields, or B.Tech/B.E with adequate experience. Experience in teaching or comparative research is desirable but not necessary.

b. Finance and Accounting: PhD with or without experience, or MBA or equivalent with first class with specialisation in finance and accounting, or M.Com with first class with specialisation in computer applications, or PhD/registered for PhD in relevant disciplines (preferred).

c. General Management: PhD with or without experience, or MBA or equivalent with first class. Background in law or interest in legal aspects of business is an added qualification.

d. Information Systems and Analytics (ISA): PhD with expertise in Information Systems/Analytics, or Post-graduates (MBA with specialisation in IT/Systems/Analytics or related fields), or Graduates with B.Tech/B.E/BCA/B.Sc (IT/Computer Science or related fields).

e. Marketing: PhD with or without experience, or first class post-graduates (MBA with relevant specialisation, or post-graduates in relevant field) with one year post qualification experience in academics or industry, or ACA/AICWA (for F&A), B.Tech/B.E (for OM&DS), B.Tech/B.E/MCA (for ISA) with adequate experience.

f. Organizational Behaviour & Human Resource Management: PhD with or without experience, or a graduate with at least 50% marks and fairly good written and spoken English (fresh graduates in Arts, Science or Engineering eligible).

g. Operations Management and Decision Sciences: PhD with or without experience, or B.E (any branch) from a recognised institution, or B.Sc/M.Sc in Mathematics or Statistics, or MBA with specialisation or significant elective courses in Operations Management/Decision Sciences/Analytics.

h. Strategy: PhD with or without experience, or an MBA or Master's degree in Economics, Psychology, Sociology or a related discipline, with a good academic record. Prior teaching/educational institution experience preferred but not essential.

Upper age limit: 35 years for candidates with PhD, 30 years for candidates without PhD.

Fellowship / pay

Consolidated salary: Rs.30,000 per month for candidates with PhD; Rs.25,000 per month for candidates without PhD. Candidates without the requisite experience mentioned for an area may be considered on merit but at a lower stipend than stated.
