Ph.D. Admission (PhD), Chemical, Physical and Biological Sciences at INST Mohali

About the position

The Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali is holding a special drive walk-in interview for Ph.D. admission, January 2027 session. It is open to OBC-NCL, SC and ST candidates. Areas are Chemical Sciences (Energy Environment Unit), Physical Sciences (Quantum Materials and Devices Unit), Biological Sciences (Chemical Biology Unit) and the Director Research Group. Selected students are enrolled in the Ph.D. programme of IISER Mohali, which awards the degree.

Eligibility

• M.Sc., M.Pharm. or M.Tech. in Basic or Applied Sciences, Engineering or related areas. Students who have appeared for the final year or semester examinations are also eligible, provided the degree is granted by the time of joining.
• Qualified at least one national examination out of GATE, CSIR/UGC-NET (JRF, PhD admission only, LS), JEST, JGEEBILS (TIFR/NCBS), ICMR-JRF, DBT-JRF, GPAT or Project-Funded (as per INST rules).
• Age limit: as per the guidelines of CSIR-UGC and DST.
• Category: OBC-NCL, SC, ST.
• Only candidates found eligible on the shortlisting criteria of the respective units are allowed for interview.

Fellowship / pay

• Both self-funded and limited institute supported Ph.D. positions are available.
• Fellowship amount is not stated in the notice.
• Application fee: Rs. 590/- for OBC-NCL and Rs. 295/- for SC and ST candidates, paid online on the date of interview.
• No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

4. Carry original documents for date of birth, qualifications, fellowship, reservation category, research experience and publications.
5. Bring two passport size photographs and one set of photocopies of the documents.
6. Pay the application fee online on the interview day.
