Research Associate (RA), Life Sciences at NIPGR Delhi

About the position

BRIC-National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), New Delhi, invites applications for two Research Associate-I posts. The posts are in Life Sciences and are temporary. One post each is in two DBT projects: "Antifungal peptide-based formulations for management of sheath blight disease in rice" and "Imparting sheath blight disease tolerance in rice through genome editing of susceptibility factor". The work is under Dr. Gopaljee Jha, Scientist. The initial appointment is for one year or till the project ends, whichever is earlier.

Eligibility

• Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Molecular biology/Microbiology or a related field, fulfilling the guidelines of DST-OM number DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated June 26, 2023.
• Candidates with M.Tech in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics with three years of research experience and relevant research publication can also apply, as per the same DST office memorandum.
• Desirable: experience in molecular biology, genome editing, handling transgenic plants, plant-pathogen handling, formulations and protein biochemistry, supported by publications in SCI journals (at least one first-author or two co-author research papers with more than 3 IF).
• Reservation of posts is as per Govt. of India norms.

Fellowship / pay

• Emoluments: ₹58,000/- per month plus 27% HRA, as sanctioned in the project.
• Fellowship is as per DBT/DST norms.
• The posts are co-terminus with the projects. Appointment can be terminated by one month notice from either side.
