Research Associate (PDRA-III), Physics / Chemistry / Life Sciences at S N Bose Centre Kolkata

About the position

S N Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata invites applications for Post-Doctoral Research Associate (PDRA-III) positions under its Advanced Postdoctoral Manpower Programme (APMP). The programme is open across the Centre's departments: Astrophysics and High Energy Physics; Chemical, Biological and Macromolecular Sciences; Condensed Matter and Materials Physics; and Physics of Complex Systems. Candidates should hold a PhD in an area overlapping the Centre's research activities and are advised to contact a proposed mentor before applying. The number of posts is subject to faculty-wise vacancy.

Eligibility

Ph.D. in an area overlap with the research activities of the Centre. Candidates who have submitted Ph.D. thesis may also apply. Minimum number of journal publications: 6. Minimum postdoctoral experience: 4 years. Upper age limit 39 years on the date of application. Age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, PWD and women candidates as per CSIR guidelines.

Fellowship / pay

Consolidated monthly emoluments of Rs. 54,000/- plus HRA as applicable. Tenure is initially for one year, extendable for a further year subject to satisfactory performance and approval by the Competent Authority.

4. Send a signed printout of the application, with photograph and self-attested certificates, by post to The Registrar, S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Block-JD, Sector-III, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700106, marked "Application for PDRA Position" on the envelope.
5. Arrange for two recommendation letters to be sent directly by the referees to postdocapply@bose.res.in with subject "Recommendation letter for #Candidate Name#".
6. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email and/or hardcopy letter, and must bring original certificates at the time of the selection process.
