Senior Research Fellow (SRF), Plant Physiology at ICAR-IARI Delhi

About the position

ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi invites applications for two Senior Research Fellow (SRF) posts in Plant Physiology. The posts are under the ICAR-funded project "Enhancing climate resilience and ensuring food security with genome editing tools". They are offered by the Division of Plant Physiology and the Division of Biochemistry. The posts are temporary and co-terminus with the project.

Eligibility

• Essential: Master's degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Molecular Biotechnology, Plant Physiology, Plant Biochemistry, or Life Sciences, with a 4-year/5-year bachelor's degree (1st Division).
• Candidates with a 3-year bachelor's degree in basic sciences and a 2-year master's degree must have NET/GATE/ICAR-SRF (PhD entrance) qualification and 2 years of research experience.
• Candidates with a 5-year B.Tech. + M.Tech. degree must have both qualifications mentioned on the degree.
• OR Ph.D. in any of the above disciplines.
• Desirable: Agrobacterium mediated genetic transformation, molecular cloning, molecular and physiological analysis of transgenic plants, data analysis, research paper writing.
• Age: 35 years for men, 40 years for women. Relaxation for SC/ST, OBC and PwD candidates as per Government of India rules.
• No objection certificate from the current employer is required, if working.

Fellowship / pay

• Rs 37000 +30% HRA per month.
• Initial period of six months or project duration, whichever is earlier. May be extended on satisfactory performance.
• If performance is not satisfactory, the SRF can be terminated with one month notice.
• No TA/DA for attending the interview.
