PhD Admission, Multiple Disciplines at IIIT Allahabad

About the position

This is a rolling PhD admission notice from IIIT Allahabad (IIITA), Prayagraj, for the regular PhD programme with Institute or external fellowship. Admissions are offered across the Department of IT, the Department of ECE, the Department of Applied Science (Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, and Mathematics and Statistics disciplines) and the Department of Management Studies. The number of seats is not fixed and the Institute may choose not to fill all seats if suitable candidates are not found.

Eligibility

• Candidates with BTech/BPharm/MTech/MPharm/MSc/MCA/MBA/MCom or an equivalent professional degree, with a qualifying score in GATE/GPAT/CAT/NET-PhD only/NET (Lectureship or Assistant Professor)/NET-JRF/CSIR NET/ICMR-JRF, as applicable, are eligible. GRE/GMAT will be considered if the preceding degree was obtained outside India.
• Candidates holding MTech/MPharm/MSc/MCA/MBA/MCom or an equivalent degree who have not qualified a national level exam such as GATE/NET are required to appear for the IIITA-PET.
• Minimum 60% marks or 6 CGPI (on a scale of 10) at PG level is required, or for direct admission after a 4 year UG programme, minimum 70% or 7 CGPI. Relaxation as per GOI norms applies to candidates from socially and economically underprivileged classes.
• A candidate without any financial support from the Institute or any funding agency is not allowed to pursue a PhD at IIITA under this stream.

Fellowship / pay

Admission is offered "With Institute/External Fellowship". The notice does not state the fellowship amount.

How to apply

2. Click APPLY for the relevant programme.
3. Fill all details on the online application portal and pay the requisite fee by the due date and time.
4. Upload the required documents as listed in Annexure 3.
5. Pay the non-refundable application fee: Rs 500 for General/EWS/OBC category, Rs 250 for SC/ST/PWD category, through net banking or debit/credit card.
6. Applicants applying to more than one department or discipline must apply separately for each.
