Assistant Professor, Management and Other Areas at IIM Calcutta

About the position

IIM Calcutta invites applications for regular faculty positions at the level of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor Grade I and Assistant Professor Grade II. The call covers the areas of Business Ethics and Communications, Economics, Finance and Control, Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, Marketing, Management Information Systems, Operations Management, Public Policy and Management, and Organizational Behaviour. Selected candidates will teach at the post-graduate and doctoral levels, carry out research and take part in the Institute's academic and administrative work. This is a continuous, rolling recruitment and the number of posts is not stated.

Eligibility

Professor: Ph.D. with first class at the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate area with a very good academic record and a minimum of ten years of Teaching/Industry/Research experience of which at least four years should be at the level of Associate Professor at IIMs or other peer institutes in India/abroad. The candidate should have demonstrated leadership in research in a specific area of specialization in terms of strong record of publications in reputed journals and refereed conferences, course development and/or other recognized relevant professional activities.

Associate Professor: Ph.D. with first class at the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate area with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of six years of Teaching/Industry/Research experience, of which at least three years should be at the level of Assistant Professor at IIMs or other peer institutes in India/abroad. The candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent research in terms of publications in reputed journals and refereed conferences, course development and/or other recognized relevant professional activities.

Assistant Professor Grade I: Ph.D. with first class at the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate area with a very good academic record throughout and at least three years of industrial/research/teaching experience as on the date of application excluding the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D. Candidate should have demonstrated research capabilities in terms of publications in reputed journals and refereed conferences.

Assistant Professor Grade II: Eligible candidates with less than the requisite experience may be considered for contractual Assistant Professor Grade II positions with appropriate pay as per GoI rules, and may move to Grade I after fulfilling the necessary experience and subject to satisfactory performance.

Fellowship / pay

Base salary is as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Salary and allowances shall be as per Government of India norms. The Institute offers housing for faculty, a liberal faculty development and research support policy, funding for national and international conferences, a research grant program, and access to databases and library resources.

4. Arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent directly by the referees.
