About the position

IISER Pune invites applications for Assistant Professor (Grade I), a tenure track faculty post, under a rolling special recruitment drive reserved for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD and EWS candidates. The post is open across the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Data Science, Earth and Climate Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics, Physics and Science Education. The position is initially offered for 5 years from joining, subject to performance review. Priority research areas are listed by each department, though outstanding applications in any relevant area may be considered.

Eligibility

Ph.D. in the relevant area in Biology / Chemistry / Data Science / Earth and Climate Science / Humanities and Social Sciences / Mathematics / Physics / Science Education, with first class at the preceding degree and at least 3 years post-Ph.D. industrial, research or teaching experience. Open only to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Class-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates.

Fellowship / pay

Academic Pay Level-12 (Entry pay Rs. 1,01,500/-). Gross monthly emoluments at the base of the scale are approximately Rs. 1,77,400/-, plus Dearness, House Rent, Transport and Children's Education allowances as admissible to Central Government employees in Pune.
