About the position

IISER Pune invites applications for Associate Professor, a senior faculty post, under a rolling special recruitment drive reserved for SC, OBC-NCL, PwBD and EWS candidates. The post is open across the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Data Science, Earth and Climate Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics, Physics and Science Education. The position carries at least one year of probation, with continuation till superannuation subject to satisfactory clearance. Priority research areas are listed by each department, though outstanding applications in any relevant area may be considered.

Eligibility

Ph.D. in the relevant area in Biology / Chemistry / Data Science / Earth and Climate Science / Humanities and Social Sciences / Mathematics / Physics / Science Education, with first class at the preceding degree and at least 6 years post-Ph.D. industrial, research or teaching experience, of which 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor (Grade I). Open only to Scheduled Caste (SC), Other Backward Class-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates. Note: ST category is not listed as reserved for this post in the notice.

Fellowship / pay

Academic Pay Level-13A2 (Entry pay Rs. 1,39,600/-). Gross monthly emoluments at the base of the scale are approximately Rs. 2,40,200/-, plus Dearness, House Rent, Transport and Children's Education allowances as admissible to Central Government employees in Pune.
