Research Associate (RA), Sustainable Energy Engineering at IIT Kanpur

About the position

IIT Kanpur invites applications for one Research Associate-I post in the Department of Sustainable Energy Engineering. The post is under the project "Centre Of Excellence on Innovative And Integrated Ecosystems For Green Hydrogen". It is purely temporary and contractual. The initial duration is 1 year, with extension based on satisfactory performance.

Eligibility

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree, or 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after ME/M.Tech.
• At least two research publications in SCI-indexed Q1 journals.
• Essential experience: strong foundation in Physics, Chemistry and Materials Engineering, with good experimental skills and hands-on experience with characterization techniques such as SEM, XRD, Raman spectroscopy and XPS.
• Strong background in electrochemical systems, ceramic processing and sintering, with relevant theoretical understanding and experimental experience.
• Practical experience in electrochemical characterization and testing under controlled gas atmospheres, including safe handling and use of hydrogen.
• Desirable: experience in SOFC fabrication, cell/stack assembly and electrochemical testing.

Fellowship / pay

Consolidated salary of 58,000/- INR per month + 20% HRA (if campus accommodation is not provided).
