Research Associate (RA), Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology at IIT (BHU) Varanasi

About the position

IIT (BHU) Varanasi invites applications for Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) in the Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology. The post is in an ICMR sponsored project titled "Novel mitochondrial mediated and brain targeted pharmacotherapy for alcohol use disorder". The PI is Prof. Sairam Krishnamurthy. The post is temporary and co-terminus with the project, which is sanctioned for up to 3 years.

Eligibility

• Essential: (i) First class M. Pharm / M. S. (Pharm.) / M. Tech (Pharm) in Pharmacology; OR (ii) Second class M. Pharm / M. S. (Pharm.) / M. Tech (Pharm) in Pharmacology with PhD in Pharmacology. The qualification must be from a recognized Board / University / Institute.
• Desirable: Qualified in GATE / GPAT / CSIR-UGC-NET including lectureship. Experience in animal handling, molecular studies, histopathology techniques, in vitro screening and scientific writing with peer-reviewed publications is preferred.
• Upper age limit: 35 years (relaxable as per GoI rules).
• All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GoI rules.

Fellowship / pay

• Rs. 56,000 + 20% HRA per month for the first two years, and a 5% hike in salary for the third year.
• The selected candidate must join immediately.
• No TA/DA will be paid if called for interview.
