Project Associate (PA), National Aerosol Facility at IIT Kanpur

About the position

IIT Kanpur invites applications for one Project Associate (PA) in the National Aerosol Facility. The subject area is environmental and atmospheric science. The post is temporary and contractual, for 1 year or till the end of the project, whichever is earlier. It is renewed annually based on performance. The posting is based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Eligibility

• Essential: Post graduate degree in environmental science/engineering, atmospheric science, climate studies, or a closely related field.
• Desirable: Basic proficiency in the MS Productivity Suite, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Desirable: Working knowledge of Python or R for scientific and environmental data processing and analysis.
• Desirable: Basic working knowledge of ArcGIS or QGIS for spatial data processing and visualization.
• Desirable: Basic understanding of air quality monitoring, atmospheric/environmental data and scientific measurements.
• Desirable: Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with attention to detail.
• Desirable: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Fellowship / pay

INR 21600-1800-54000 per month consolidated. Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. The selected candidate arranges their own accommodation in Ahmedabad.
