Research Associate (RA), Biomedical Engineering at SCTIMST Thiruvananthapuram

About the position

Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Thiruvananthapuram, invites applications for one Research Associate post in biomedical engineering. The post is in the Biomedical Technology Wing under the DBT funded project "Centre of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Cardiovascular Devices" (P.8264). The work covers research and development of medical devices for minimally invasive cardiovascular use. The post is for an initial 6 months and is likely to be extended up to 13.06.2029.

Eligibility

• Essential qualification: M.Tech/M.E. / Ph.D in Engineering / Technology, with B.Tech in Biomedical / Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation or equivalent, and at least one research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
• Essential experience: 3 years of research, industrial or academic experience after M.Tech / M.E. Experience is not essential for Ph.D candidates.
• Desirable experience: R&D on medical devices, industrial or academic experience in product design, finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, prototyping, medical device development and testing, and quality system documentation.
• Age limit: 35 years as on 1 Nov 2026.
• Vacancy: 1 (OBC). If no eligible OBC candidate is available, EWS candidates will be considered, and then UR.
• Experience counts only if gained after acquiring the prescribed essential qualification.

Fellowship / pay

Monthly emoluments: Rs.58,000/- + 18% HRA.
